"Terrace overlooking Gozo at Golden Hour" - Original Painting

Glendine’s heart drifts often to the Mediterranean, to Gozo, the quiet sister island of Malta, where her son Dylan has made his home. There’s something in Gozo that feels like the Klein Karoo, the unhurried rhythm of life, the farmlands, the bajtar (prickly pear) scattered across the hillsides, echoing the landscapes around De Rust.

In this painting, she traces a gentle line between these two distant worlds, both close to her heart. And there, amidst the colours and light, you’ll spot a nod to her beloved Delft motifs - the playful, hand-painted fish that seem to swim right off the pottery and into her imagination.
