Karoo Pietà: The South African Madonna that resonates in Malta
In June 2025, South African artist Glendine presented her exhibition Karoo Pietà at the renowned Christine X Art Gallery in Sliema, Malta. Running for three weeks from 20 June, the exhibition marked a milestone in her artistic journey, a cross-continental dialogue between the landscapes of South Africa’s Karoo and the rich cultural backdrop of the Mediterranean.

A Contemporary Reimagining of the Karoo Madonna

Following the success of Karoo Pietà, Christine X Art Gallery has already invited Glendine to return for a new exhibition in 2026.
